Jennifer Johnson, President
A former first-grade teacher, instructional technology director, and adjunct professor, Jennifer’s passion for advocating for children stems from her experience working with underrepresented youth.
Maria Knutson, Vice-President
A bilingual healthcare recruiter and volunteer, Maria is inspired by her belief in the “village” needed to support children.
Denise Coyne, Secretary
After a 33-year career at Chevron, including a tenure as Chief Information Officer, Denise brings global IT and business expertise to the board, alongside extensive volunteer leadership in community organizations.
Craig Nevin
A seasoned real estate attorney, lecturer, and expert witness, Craig offers decades of professional and legal expertise.
Dan Ashley
ABC7 news anchor and founder of the “Rock the CASA Foundation,” Dan uses his platform and connections to champion Child Advocates of Contra Costa County’s mission.
Sherina Criswell
With over 20 years of community advocacy, Sherina’s dedication to empowering children includes founding a Black Student Union and supporting underprivileged youth.
Leslie Landau
A retired Superior Court Judge who now serves as a private mediator and arbitrator, Leslie brings decades of local legal expertise. She sat for years in the family law and juvenile divisions of the Court, and saw firsthand the critical role a CASA can play in the life of a foster child.
